IBGF 2009: 1 3/4 Belgian named, slightly hazy amber hue with a frothy head and spotty lace. The aroma has notes of candi sugar, caramel and bready malts, a hint of rye, plum, oranges and apples, bubblegum esters, and a hint of minerals. The taste is rather sweet at first but a fair amount of fruity and spicy notes are found soon enough. The problem is that nothing really stands out. The mouth feel is smooth and soft but a tad watery. Very average American made version.

Draft at Alcatraz - Indy Under the name of 1 3/4. Poured a hazy copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy citrus, fruity and yeast. Medium yeasty bittersweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. I would recommend this beer to a freind.

tap at the Indy brewpub - Pours amber and has a yeasty malt aroma. The flavor is sweet malt with some light fruit esters. It’s medium bodied and bubbly with a lingering finish of mild hops and more sweet malt. It’s decent but not remarkable.
