May 11, 2003 a very pleasant beer with a subtle coffee undertone. has a rather weak aroma but makes up for it with a nice robust flavor.

Feb 19, 2003 Tried this one at the restaurant in Indy. Nice color, really, and a decent head to it. Aroma was alright, though nothing spectacular. The flavor was mostly malty, not too hoppy...pretty good, but not great. A decent beer, though I wouldn't go out of my way to get it.

Jan 29, 2003 Red color with a small ring of bubbles around the edge. Nice malty aroma. Malty sweet with a nice amount of bitterness. Pretty good beer.

May 13, 2002 With the brown, the only other Alcatraz brew remotely worth drinking (in Michigan). It has a decent, though boring, malt backbone but a lively color.
