clear dark red, fine dirty white head, lots of spidery lace,
light toasted and chocolate aroma,
rich chocolate malt flavor, hint of roasted, nice nutty character, earthy hops keep it mostly dry with just a bit of sweetness coming through, light lingering bitter finish keeps some of the nutty character,

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Aug 9, 2004 This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of medium sized mostly lasting off-white colored bubbles that left behind a fair lacing. The body was transparent softly carbonated and dark ruby red brown in color. It had a medium strength malt hop aroma with a mild brown note. The mouth feel was smooth and somewhat flat with a mild lingering malt finish that was mildly tingly. The flavor contained notes of malt and hops. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA

Smooth clocolate taste with subtle nuts, malt and caramel. It did have a gritty finish. Way too light at 4.4% hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA

This brew had excellent lacing and the body was brown in hue. It had a mild coffee aroma and a smooth flavor from start to finish. At the same time, this brew was thin and watery in my opinion. I much prefer their Porter to this particular brew. Dogbrick (2855), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 15, 2004 From a sampler: This beer is a dark brown color with a medium thick beige head. Thin, sticky lacing. The aroma is very nutty with a touch of brown sugar. Very smooth body with a tasty roasted coffee, nut and malt blend. The only downside is the flavor is not very lasting. The finish is nutty and has a lightly bitter aspect to it. This is a pretty good Brown. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA

I could drink gallons of this stuff. Not a hop in sight. Fantastic! Quite malty. Looking forward to more during 2005's annual Indy pilgrimage.
