A very dark brown, almost black beer, Devout Stout is smooth and rich with an alcoholic kick. Its flavours combine brown sugar, aniseed, and coffee. Not quite as good as their porter, this is still a very enjoyable beer from Alcazar.

Pours dark brown with a thin white head. Smells of dark chocolate, molasses, sweet brown sugar, some pepper. Tastes of roasted malt, some peppery splashes, textured malt profile. Enjoyable.

Bottled. Thx Gustaf. Pitch blöack with a bubbly off-white/beige head. Toffee, chocolate and coffee in both aroma and flavour. Also vinous with cocoa and sweet fruits. Milky palate and slightly sourish.

Bottle. Heavy pitch pour with Caramac-coloured suds receding to a halo. Aroma smoked and slightly vinous, with coffee, cocoa, prunes, yeast extract and a potent slug of booze. Creamy warming palate exuding smoke, more prunes, bitter chocolate, black coffee and alcohol glow. Lingeringly bitter and charred. Nice.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of alcohol, soy sauce, and chocolate, and so it the flavor, combined with notes of caramel and coffee. fine.

Bottle, bought @ YNWA, Kolding. Pours pitch-black with almost no head. What is there is thick and beige. Aroma is buttery, ashes, coffe, vinious and heavily roasted. Low carbonation. Flavour is hardly roasted, lots of coffee, rather flat feeling with a good dose of chocolate as well. Surprisingly nice.
