Black with a brown, lasting head. Intense aroma of dark malts, licorice, chocolate and molasses. Very sweet, still licorice and molasses, only a hint of bitterness in the finish. Very full and creamy mouthfeel.

Toffee, chocolate and coffee in both aroma and flavour. Also vinous with cocoa and sweet fruits. Milky palate and slightly sourish.

Jan 17, 2008 Updated: Jan 24, 2008Bottle. Heavy pitch pour with Caramac-coloured suds receding to a halo. Aroma smoked and slightly vinous, with coffee, cocoa, prunes, yeast extract and a potent slug of booze. Creamy warming palate exuding smoke, more prunes, bitter chocolate, black coffee and alcohol glow. Lingeringly bitter and charred. Nice.
