hughie (2203), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Aug 5, 2008 Cask at the Fox & Crown, Nottingham. Same picture on the pumpclip, but under the name of ’Brush Bitter’. Amber with an off white head. Sweet caramel malt aroma and taste with some bitterness. A fairly run of the mill strong bitter. albertane (277), Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England Jun 15, 2008 Cask at the Fox & Crown, Basford, Nottingham. Served as Brush Bitter. This copper beer struck me as a very ordinary bitter, but quite an enjoyable one. It’s very well balanced with sweet fruity malt and a dry, possibly slightly spicy finish. Floral and hop aromas. Amber coloured with a little sour fruit flavour. Crisp malt finish. haddonsman (1189), Derby, Derbyshire, England May 9, 2005 Cask at Babington Arms (JDW) Derby. Gentle brown body, fair lacing, lush fruits with a malty backwash. Yummy. leaparsons (3903), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Jun 7, 2004 Russett red with a small white head. Aromas are mellow fruity malts with spices. Quite vineous in aroma and flavour with fruity malts, pepper, sweet toffee and berries. Some warming alcohol, too. Not bad.
