Draft at the brewpub - Poured a very dark black/brown in color with a quite dark tan head that quickly settled to a thin covering over the beer. Carbonation is low. Aroma is heavy with darkly roasted malts, coffee/espresso and just a hint of hops. Flavor is also strong, but not overpowering, of dark malts, coffee and hints of chocolate. Bitterness is nicely balanced with malts. Oatmeal’s presence makes the palate thick and oily. This beer goes down very easy; perhaps dangerously. Really good and another hit for this quality brewer.

on tap-pours a light brown head that laces and black color. Aroma is roasty dark malt-chocolate, slight acidic. Taste is roasty dark malt-oat-chocolate, secondary slight acidic/earthy hops.
