Draught at the brewpub. Dark, clear maple, small lasting head and nice lacing. Fresh piney nose, bit of biscuit. Hints of caramel, much more evident as the too-cold pint warms, quite bitter for an ESB, heavily yeasty (Ringwood I guess), very woody; some cherry hints, low-to-medium sweetness. Seems closer to an IPA than a bitter for me, I guess that's not surprising with 50 IBUs listed. Not bad, but not really what I expected or wanted.
