Commercial Description:
Some call this a Weizen Bock, I call it a Double Hefeweizen. A distinct aroma of cloves and bananas is complemented by the spicy flavor of 2 kinds of wheat malt. ABV 7.9% IBU 10

Tulip at the brewpub at the finish of EBF 2006 weekend, in the loving company of tiggmtl, MartinT, Olivier_MTL and Rastacouere. A faint lasting head tops the opaque thick yellow body....bananas, clove and grape dominate the lightly alcoholic, strong mostly typical hefe nose, but some interesting horsey wildness creeps in as well, not surprising given the brewer’s predilections....body is a bit worty, but not damagingly so, yeast is soft and light and helps bring out an intense wheaty-estery tartness, burstin with fruits....wet, syrupy, lightly alcoholic, this is absolutely what the brewer intended, I think: a "double" or "extra" hefe, with both the faults and (mostly) qood qualities that entail from that description.

Cloudy golden pour with a thin white head. Aroma of honey, fruits and wheat. Good flavor of honey, fruits and wheat served through a plump, oily body.

(Rating #1082)

Draft at the brewpub - Poured a bright yellow in color with a thick white head that receded to a light covering on top. Aroma was quite heavy with the clove-banana distinctive of this style and deliverered other estery fruitiness as well. Flavor is slightly sweet with strong citrus and wheat components to go along with the classc clove-banana. Thickly bodied with alcohol being apparent only during the finish. Again John shows his mastery of all styles of beer with this rendition of an "imperial" weizen... priceless!

Robe blonde dorée très claire surmontée d’une mousse blanche qui s’estompe. Arômes de bananes. Saveurs de bananes sucrées, d’agrumes et de clous de girofle.

On tap at Alchemist. Good aroma of banana and cloves, mild bubblegum. Wheaty citrusy hops. Golden color with a bit of amber; mild haze. Thin off-white lacing head. Medium-light watery body with soft carbonation. Starts sweet with bananas and wheat; nice bubblegum esters. Big sweet malty wheaty finish with mild powdery bitterness and a bit of a tang. Fruity. Warming and slightly sticky after.
