Bottle, very clear dark brown with a frothy beige head. Caramel, light mocha in the nose. Tastes like a light-roasted doppelbock. Very caramel-y, pretty sweet but not cloying. Notes of light chocolate, wood, maple and light raisin. Medium bodied with a smooth texture and moderate carbonation. Enjoyable.

Moderate malty aroma. Huge creamy, light brown head. Excellent lacing. Fully lasting longevity. Clear brown body. Moderate sweet flavor. Medium palate and creamy texture.

500ml bottle. cloudy and dull coal black with brown edges. big fluffy tan head forms tall and thick. leaves lots of webby lacing behind as it fades. nose of raisins and chocolate with brownies and faint tart cherry hiding in back. nice full body with dark chocolate and light coffee. rich and layered with lots of flavor. the texture is a little tongue coating and it lacks that perfect finish. this is, however, a good beer.

It starts with a rich bourbon, chocolate and mocha nose, resembling a chocolate liquer at times, and when drank the first impression is of sharp, biting and coarse malts, moderately heavy roast, with some coffee and liquer and bitter bakers chocolate. Rich, fresh, lively, active, toasty and robust. Great stuff.

500mL bottle, courtesy of jasonp. Thanks, Jason! Pours a dark, oily cola color; thin off-white head with patchy lacing. Chewy nougat and caramel in the aroma; sweet, sticky. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: plenty of cola and caramel and nougat in the core; a slightly roasted, smoky note at the perimeter; just tons of sticky sugar and nougat, but still quite drinkable. Lengthy, nougat and caramel finish.

Poured from a 500 ml. Thin consistency of rich chocolate brown color. Full and rich aroma of whiskey, raisins, maple sugar; roasted pecans and pie filling coalesce underneath. Quiet chocolate flavor, lightly bitter with cinnamon and a crisp, cool woodsy tone. Well-played lager yeast imparts juicy, tangy suggestions of dark fruits that never arrive with too much pomp. Integrated nicely. Medium palate, where the heavy sweetness presents itself carefully and pleasantly. Finishes with a short pulse of caramel. Surprising. Thanks for sharing, Jason!

Bottle@Chris_o’s. Quite sweet, and sticky as a lot of these Baltic porters tend to be. This has sweet caramel notes, with touches of chocolate and roasted malt, some sticky soy action happening. Quite clean though, and pleasant.
