| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 28, 2005 Bottle. $2.49. Tryed this originally at a tasting at Cellars Minnetonka and it was easily the best beer served that evening. Picked up a bottle a few months later; my first Latvian beer. Sweet molasses aroma with hints of milk chocolate. More attractive aroma than most Baltic Porters I’ve had which are usually somewhat rough. Large, mostly lasting tan head. Clear, deep dark blackish ruby red. Lots of slow carbonation. Excellent sheet lacing. Similar to the aroma, this is finer, smoother, and creamier than most other Baltics I’ve had, most notably, Baltika 6, which was excellent in its own right. A little tinge of semi-sweet sourness. Overall, quite sweet, almost syrupy, but not cloying. There is almost enough alcohol to counter. A very well done beer that in my mind is underrated. ratman197 (3262), Arvada, Colorado, USA
