Taste was heavy on the bourbon side with a bit of vanilla mixed in. Like a lighter version of a bourbon stout. oh6gdx (9102), Vasa, Finland
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 26, 2005 Bottled. Black opaque, huge brown foamy head. Fruity aroma and a bit soapy too. Sweet roasted malt with hints of caramel in the flavour. Sweetish finish, not much aftertaste. thegreenrooster (1846), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Mar 25, 2005 Pour is dark black with no head. Aroma is a small chocolate with some roast in there. Flavor is dark brown sugar and alcohol. Very warming but not pleasant. tomxcs (315), Golden, Colorado, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Mar 25, 2005 Updated: Apr 9, 2005Pour near-black with a big head. Aroma is very clean, bland, with anise and sweet malt. Taste-wise, the licorise comes through with tons and tons of super-sweet malts, like chocolate cake with cola-flavored frosting. Dark brown sugar flavors as well. Feels buttery and creamy in the mouth. Very clean beer, but too sweet for my tastes even in this ultra-malty style. I feel like what I want from this beer is the roastiness and hops to turn it into some kind of lagered, heavy stout... Bigsky66 (148), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 23, 2005 First baltic porter. Smells like a malt proter and it gives me kind of a medicine feel to the nose. Super sweet to me. Does have the malt texture and somewhat of the flavor. Bitterness at the end also. This beer is good and bad. I do like the malt beer effect but the sweetness is way to over powering. good aroma! Pernille (518), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Mar 19, 2005 No scent at all. Not much taste either. It’s sweet and taste a bit like liqourice but lacks body and character. Quite a boring porter. wxman (588), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 15, 2005 Kind of a clean malty, anise like aroma. Small, pale amber head that is gone from the start. Some lacing. Very dark reddish color, but not opaque. The somewhat thin, crispness of the licorice taste tells me this is not an ale, but a dark eastern European lager in the brewed in the Porter style. Quite good, but there are better examples for the same price from Poland. The taste of alcohol is hidden quite successfully. Some nice fruitiness in the aroma.
