color is deep brown, clear, short-lived tan head. slight alcohol, chocolate in the nose. flavor is quite chocolatey, with a decent hop bitterness with each swish around the mouth. not a thirst quincher by any stretch. moderate mouthfeel. a quality beer.

Dark brown color with a big thick creamy off white head that is very well retained. Aroma is lightly rich sweet malt, light chocolate, slight touch of smoke. Flavor is rich chocolate malt with a tiny bit of of hops. Very enjoyable beer from a far away country.

Pours a beautiful burgundy black color with a thick head that lasts as thick lacing to the end of the glass. Aroma is rather bland compared to similar European porters and has undertones of a tire factory. However, the complexity of the flavor holds its own, presenting a floral bouquet and rich, caramel malt undertones. Pleasant, thick body to this brew. Intense strawberry Pop Tart aftertaste. I’d say this Latvian outfit offers a great value at $1.99. Fix the aroma and other spiritous elements and it will become a classic brew.

(Bottle) Pours a dark brown body with ruby highlights and a medium-sized light brown head. Aroma of sweet roasted malt, caramel, mustiness, raisins, coffee, and a hint of chocolate. Creamy texture with a somewhat bitter finish. NIce raosted malt flavor with some coffee and chocolate.

Very dark brown, fairly creamy head faded slowly. Dark bready aroma. Flavor was of rich dark bread drizzled with honey, quite sweet. Faint fruitiness as well. Not overwhelmingly flavorful, but quite decent.
