| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 23, 2004 Pours a beautiful burgundy black color with a thick head that lasts as thick lacing to the end of the glass. Aroma is rather bland compared to similar European porters and has undertones of a tire factory. However, the complexity of the flavor holds its own, presenting a floral bouquet and rich, caramel malt undertones. Pleasant, thick body to this brew. Intense strawberry Pop Tart aftertaste. I’d say this Latvian outfit offers a great value at $1.99. Fix the aroma and other spiritous elements and it will become a classic brew. jfm (1694), Holbæk, Denmark
