Pours dark, deep brown. The glass lets just enough light through to give it an almost ’glowing’ effect when held up to a light bulb. Head is burnt brown in colour and it laces nicely as you progess through the brew. Noise is filled w/ fruit, hops, and roast. Attack and finish are bit on the sweet side, a little work here by Aldaris would move this Porter up to the next level. Very, very drinkable. kbjames (242), Utah, USA

I was not disappointed and it had lots of darkness to it and carmelizations. I think this is a bit underated on this site FlacoAlto (2482), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 26, 2004 Pours a deep brown almost black color and topped by a creamy tan head. The aroma is quite chewy and malty with notes reminiscent of a good bock. I get notes of alcohol, raisins, and a subdued notes of roasted malts. The beer is sweet and slightly on the thick side. There is a bit of roast character that peeps out from under the up front sweetness. This is a tad too sweet and there is not enough bring roast character to balance it out. This is a pretty decent beer, but it really is just a bit too sweet and a bit too unbalanced. motelpogo (4399), Plzen, Czech Republic

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 14, 2004 Bottle into tulip glass. Smelled slightly of roasty chocolate, but there wasn’t much to smell. Dark plum in the glass with a huge beige head, kind of rocky, nice lacing patern on the side of the glass. The flavor is where it’s at: caramel malt, definitely sweet, but with fruity hops and some baked bread. Almost tastes like a doppelbock with more bitterness and more chocolate. In the end, some smoky mint spiciness. Creamy and full palate that was not dry and not watery. Overall, very enjoyable. Jukkabro (3039), Tampere, Finland

Full bodied and creamy palate, very sweet flavor. Flavor comes up slowly, not much of a cutting hops. Mildly alcoholic ending. Needs some more personality and dimensions to be great porter, nice one though. joet (1709), Fulton, California, USA
