500ml bottle. Pours a deep, black, chocolate toffee color, with a little stained-glass red peeking through on the edges. Big, lasting head. This is quite an excellent Baltic porter. Reminiscent at times of a Dunkel in it’s brown sugary sweetness. Big, rich, creamy...and highly drinkable. Mild and watery mouthfeel, not much hop character...but that fits the style. Slight alcohol warming grows throughout. A great beer.

Purple-tinted black crowned by a creamy, brown head. Melty dark chocolate, coffee and star anise swirl together over tangy malts, picking up a basil spiciness. Boldly sweet malts mix it up with plums and chocolate before a roasted-bitter finish. Oily and thick, soft carbonation.

Significantly sweet, well roasted, feels bigger than 6,8%.

50cl bottle, best before 20.08.2008.

Dark brown colour, almost black. A medium beige head. Smooth malty roasted taste with toffee, fruits and dark chocolate. Firm, thick palate with a short aftertaste.

Bottle, thx to faroeviking. Pours a really dark brown body, clear looking, with a creamy beige head. Quite burnt aroma with chocolate and a little fruityness, smooth and balanced. The flavor has chocolate, some roasted malt, a lovely fruityness and a wee touch of grains. Silky, warming and full-bodied. Smoked and fruity finish. A really good beer, smooth, but maybe a bit on the sweet side, would like it a little bit drier. (080301)
