DrBayern (923), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Sep 1, 2007 App 1 pint bottle. Deep red mahogany under a substantial durable tan head. Rich malty aroma of brown sugar, caramel, molasses. Smooth with very soft carbonation and a velvety feel. Sweet dark malt flavors dominate, with a very subtle hop based bitterness right at the end. Rich and malty, perhaps a bit sweet for my tastes, but quite good actually.

Pours with a dark brown body topped by a thin head with some lacing. It’s slightly sweet and malty with a slight roasty note and a light bitterness. Medium to full bodied and smooth. austone (305), Turku; Pori, Finland Aug 1, 2008 Black w/ nice, creamy beige head. Alcoholic, sweetish and burned aroma, little wood and fruitiness. Very sweet, a bit alcoholic flavor, molasses, soft burned malts, little dark chocolate in the finish. Medium bodied, very smooth palate. OK as dessert, but just not that satisfying.
