Bottled. Golden colour, decent foamy white head. Malty nose with hints of fruits. Sweetish malty taste with a bit bitter hoppiness in finish. Pretty standard pager. 6 3 5 3 12

Re-rated Jan 12th 2005:
Canned. Golden colour, minor head. Malty aroma with hints of alcohol. Flavour is sweet malty with hoppy finish. Some fruitish hints also there. Boring. 3 2 3 2 5

Not bad for Latvia, I suppose. Sure beats the crap outta any American swill. Pours very yellow and slightly cloudy; drinks nice and crisp with just a light hint of hops in the finish. Refreshing lil’ brew.

Cheap, corn sweetener aroma and flavor. Not a drain pour but had to wolf it down. Look at the bright side: it would beat any mass-produced Amerikansk malt liquor!

My 9th of the 10 LCBO vapid Slavic lagers. This one wins points for aroma....it lterally fills the room with floral and fruity accented malt aromas..excellent! Clear gold color in the glass...short lived white cap but good lacing. Aroma is a strong blend of ripe apple, floral hops and sweet grains...almost like someone in Latvia is trying to brew a German helles with bohemian character. Medium-light body front side is all-malty sweet but not cloying with a fair balance from (surely spalter and Hershbruker) give the taste a woodsy earthy tone with the nice malt delivery.....sweet finish that dries up later...biscuit after taste...nice Slavic lager.

500ml brown bottle. poured golden with some haze. Medium sized creamy white head. Fresh malt aroma. Nice malt accents in the flavour profile, with just a hint of grassy bitterness in the finish.

Pours a one-finger white head that stays leaving a thick lace. Almost clear pale amber color. Light-medium carbonation. Faint hoppy nose. Starts clean and crisp with an even mix of hops and malt, faint hoppy finish. $1.75 for a 500ml bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, MA - had to get this one Latvia is a new country (#61).

500 ml bottle. Giant rocky diminishing head tops the pale amber body, with a simple grassy nose and a touch of honey rising...very, very light, smooth and easy drinking with nary a hint of hops, an invisible finish and almost cloying sweetness.

Honestly not all that bad, especially after the Russian losers that I had earlier. Strong grain aroma, pale yellow, fizzy, little head that didn’t last. Flavor is initially sweetish, with a pleasant hay and grain flavor, followed by a light floral hop finish. Nope, not bad at all.
