BillKismet (1899), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 31, 2009 Brown with a ruby underpinning and mild head. Dusty, mildly malty aroma with some nuttiness and mildewed hops. Mildewed, grassy hop flavor with some nuttiness and soapy finish. Rather complex for a 3% ABV brew. An interesting, almost "off", character that is hard to pin down and keeps you thinking about it. bhensonb (4187), Woodland, California, USA Sep 26, 2009 Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours darkish amber with a decent off-white head. Aroma is a rather mucky malt. Near medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is water roasted caramel. Lots of odd bits. It’s watery bitter. Seems a bit overactive for a mild. On the other end it seems very sessionable. Not bad, but the flavor is odd enough to distract from conversation. coyotehunter (542), , Michigan, USA Aug 31, 2009 Bottle with much love to Scrizz. Pour is medium brown with a thick tan head. Aroma is true to form, tea, some cigarette tobacco, and malt being the highlights. Taste is less than stellar. Thin and watered down, some nuts and dirt and wood, with a light bitter in the finish. A little bit of caramel comes through towards the end. Its a mild ale...Tastes a bit like a walnut board smells. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA May 25, 2009

kramer (2407), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA May 1, 2009 12 oz bottle, via 5000. Pours a clear brown body with a fizzy one finger light beige head. The nose is very grainy with a bit of nuttiness and a light roast coffee accent. A good bit of aroma for such a small beer, it’s just not all wonderful. The flavor is on the thinner side, but I expected that. Weak nutty and toasted maltiness with a dirty husky flavor that really lingers on the finish. Not much in the way of hops. Some roasty and cocoa powder in there as well. The more I drink of this though, the more I’m picking up a bit of a medicinal almost aspirin like flavor on the finish. Light bodied and watery in texture with moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall, this wasn’t so good, but it’s not really a style that does too well with being bottled. The fizzy forced carbonation doesn’t do anything for it at all. I wish I could have this on cask. hopdog (5527), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 15, 2009 12oz bottle acquired in trade with riversideAK (thanks!). Poured a medium brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of roast, earthy/dirt, nutty, and some grains. Tastes of roast, lighter chocolate, nutty, and lighter caramel. Just noticed this was 3%. danielcurtis81 (879), San Diego, California, USA Nov 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours a cola brown. Vanilla and light lamt on the nose. Taste is watery. Flavors of brown malt and wood chips. Too watery and thin. An oily finish. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Sep 15, 2008 Pours brown with off white head. The mild aroma seems sweet and somewhat caramelized to roasted malts. I also get some light notes of oxidation. The taste is very sessionable, as is the ABV, with notes of mild roastiness, a dash of caramel and more roasted malts. Hidden behind the tasty maltiness is a mild background of pine hops.
