Skyview (2641), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA May 10, 2008 Received 12-oz bottle via trade with 5000. Pours a hazy caramel amber brew with a very thick and lumpy head that hold a retention that could last until tomorrow. Aroma of caramel malt, some light pear, sweet sugar cookie dough and a touch of roasted nuts. Taste is smooth, creamy, medium bodied, with flavors of light caramel malt, some apple/pear fuit, flowery hops and a touch of cotton candy. Finish is semi-sweet with a mild caramel aftertate that quickly disappears.
bitbucket (1455), Kirkland, Washington, USA Apr 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours light hazy apricot with a massive, towering, fluffy, persistent, lacy off-white head. Light aroma of brown sugar, toast, fruit. Light body and full carbonation. Lots of caramel in the taste, with some cookie dough, citrus and grass. Crisp and somewhat floral finish. fakepurseninja (430), Sammamish, Washington, USA Apr 12, 2008 12 oz. Bottle from Malt&Vine - Toasty, bready, and sweet shortbread cookie malt backbone. Medium bodied with a sharp fruity floral component. Fun drink. Old_Mr_Crow (971), Seattle, Washington, USA Apr 9, 2008 Updated: Apr 10, 2008Bottle.
Pours a dark rich amber with a lovely fluffy white head. Toasty malt aroma; I like the previous rater’s description of "honeysuckle."
This one shines in flavor. Toasty malt, honey-roasted nuts, some nice summer field-grass, just a nice mellow hop twist on the close like a hint of orange peel, a hint of spice. Maybe just a touch too much brown sugar, but still splendidly drinkable, I’m really really impressed. Right on! TURDFERGUSON (967), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Apr 7, 2008 Bottle from riversideAK. Thanks Alex! Pours a clear orange amber with a thin white head and lace. Nose of rich malts, honeysuckle, caramelized sugar. Very easy drinker. Light body with lots of flavor. This is one of the better marzens I have ever had.
