Commercial Description:
A traditional German dopplebock. The Bamboozleator has dark caramel aroma and flavor and a long malty finish. The name pays homage to the German tradition that you should not notice the alcohol in a dopplebock until you try standing up, only then will you know you have been Bamboozled.

Draft at the brewpub. Thick orange-brown color. Very thick malty tastes. Some sublte hoppy bitterness underneath. Thick and rich, a very nice American DB. Lacks some of the subtle malt and yeast qualities found in some German examples, but makes up for it with a fresh quality mouthfeel.

On tap at Ale Asylum. Copper with a thin tan quickly fading crown that leaves some layered lace. Aroma of malt, toffee, caramel, alcohol and nuts. Taste of toffee, caramel, mild dark fruits and some toasted malt. Finishes up a bit dry and the body is a touch oily.

Pour is a dark brown with a tan head. The aroma was of super sweet caramel malts with some brown sugar and a stong alcohol. Flavor had some dark fruit and sugar with a bit of toffee and hops. None of the alcohol in the aroma shows up in the flavor but you know its there. A decent dopple.

On draught at the brewery/brewpub taproom in northern Madison, Wisconsin.. Pours a semi-clear cola brown brew with a creamy off-white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and thick off-white ring. Aroma of roasted caramel malt, some flowery and grassy hops, a touch of dark tea, brown sugar and a touch of raisin. Taste is medium to full-bodied, light carbonation with a thick malty character and very flavored with tastes of caramel malt, raisins, dark pitted fruit and a touch of chocolate. Finish is slightly metallic while the high alcohol is well-hidden, it also has some aftertaste of tart brown sugar and a mild bitterness that lingers around after the finish.

The incredible Skyview lifts another impossible growler from a brewery! Dark brown color with no head. Sweet grain aroma and some chocolate. Very strong, sweet, fresh grain taste. Lots of caramel and chocolate. Very nice.

On tap at GTMW. Poured deep brown with a medium cap of beige head. The aroma picked up toasty aged caramel with a nice complement of molasses and herbal hoppage. The flavor was along those same lines.. warm caramel and husky notes with accents of herbal and earthy bitterness. Medium-bodied with decent flow across the palate.. I thought this was fairly well done.

Pours a dark mahogany colour with a full tan head. Caramel, slight boozy notes in the aroma. Taste is full, lightly carbonated with noticeable, caramel, toffee and apples flavors.

Thanks again to Skyview for sharing. Brown color with no head and a fresh grain aroma. The body was again sweet grains with a little caramel finish and alcohol.
