On draught at the brewpub in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a clear, coppery amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind an off-white ring a no lacing. Aroma of dark caramel malt, flowery hops with some mild spices, white pepper and a touch of clove. Taste is medium bodied, hardly any carbonation with a caramel flavor in the aftertaste and then a mild bitterness. A pretty decent milt bitter Belgian ale.

On tap at the Ale Asylum Brew Pub. Poured a deeper amberish / brownish color with a small sized off white head. Had a light haze to it. Aromas of bananas, spices, raisins, plums and some yeast. Tastes of fruits, raisins, caramel, and spices.

POurs hazy yello and shows some banana and spice on the nose. It becomes a fruit salad on the palate but yet keeps the balance with some slight bittereness that finds the finish.

On tap at the brewpub. Murky yellow-brown body, like a Celiac’s diarrhea, thin off-white head. Aroma with abundant esters (banana and clove) and toasty malt. The esters carry over that power to the body, adding light hints of pineapple in addition to banana and clove. Creamy body, rich. Little discernible alcohol. Not bad.

Classic musty yeast aromas, ripe fruitiness. Banana, clove, orange, coriander flavors. Low carbonation, but there’s a decent bitterness to keep it from being too sweet. Served too cold.

Draught sample at the brewery, mid-October 2006. Opaque, viscous-looking orange-amber color with a largish creamy head that dies quickly but leaves a bit of chunky lace....sweet, yeasty-spicy aroma, lots of coriander and ginger, a bit of orangepeeel and honey.....light caramel throughout the tasting is the backdrop for dry, heavy cobwebby yeast, somewhat chalky at times; honey’d sweetness fades almost instantly....full body, strong but gently carbonation....finishes with an odd coconut-grapefruit syrupy quality. Very interesting, and engaging without quite being great.

Smell of cloves, medium bodied, average carbonation. Can taste cloves, alcohol, and a hint of bread. Fantastic!

On tap at the Ale Asylum. Poured a hazy, darker, murky brown with a light ring of off-white head. Almost sickeningly-sweet aroma with pears, some darker fruits, and peppery spices. Flavor also found bunches of sweet fruits and peppery spices that rose in prominence as this warmed up.. rather complex, but again too sweet for me. Flowed somewhat well on the palate but was hard to drink a lot of.
