Draught at the brewery tasting room. Served without a lemon. Cloudy yellow color with thin white head that left sparingly little lace on the glass. Yeasty bread dough, citrus, and light clove aromas. Tastes of banana and fresh malty cereal grain.

On tap at the brewpub. The beer was cloudy light yellow with a white head. The aroma was classic hefe with some bananas and clove. Very clean. The taste had lots of clove with some banana peels and hay. The finish was a little spicy and I got a hint of pineapple. The carbonation was a little sharp fo rme in the style.

Tap @ Brewery. Aroma was like standing next to a tank in a milk house. Not bad if you’ve done that. Hazy yellow body with white head and good lacing. Flavor had a touch of lemon, and a creamy vanilla flavor. Refreashing brew is right.

Hazy yellow body, creamy white head. Good aroma - banana/clove/some bubblegum. Pepper-spicy flavor (odd) over sweet pale malt and clove and gentle Euro-hops. Bit too spicy.

Pours to a hazy straw colored body with a very thick and creamy white head. Nice lacing. The aroma is cloves and bananas with shredded wheat. The flavor is wheaty, cloves, and bananas. The palate is lightly tart, medium bodied, and has a smooth texture. 7, 3, 7, 4, 14 = 3.5
Resampled on Friday the 13th, July 2007. Pours to a hazy light straw colored body with lots of slow carbonation and a thin white head. The aroma is wheaty with a nice balanced coriander/clove and orange rind. I swear there is a dash of beechwood smoke. The flavor is quite wheaty with a nice clove/coriander and toasted bread and light pepper. The palate is medium bodied and wheat textured. Light tartness. 8, 3, 6, 3, 14 = 3.4

On tap at brewery

This was the second sample of the night. So far the Asylum is two for two on beers that will drive people crazy.

Aroma / Appearance - A cloudy body looked like someone had dropped an egg yolk into it and then mixed in scents of bananas, wheat, spice and white grapes.

Flavor / Palate - A first impression of dried banana chips yields to a wheaty bitterness interspersed with white grapes, pineapples and cedar chips. The slightly dry finish left a bitter impression that soothed the throat. This was an extremely easy drinker as it should have been. If you can make it to the brewery, this one should be on your list to try.

Aroma of banana, clove and a touch of sweet, lightly bready malt. Nice and estery, solid and complex and not too fake or candy like. Very cloudy yellow with a nice white head. Initially a soft, not sweet malt flavor that sweetens up as you drink with flavors of banana and clove and then a touch of grassy, tettnanger-like hops in the well balanced finish. Medium-light body, almost creamy, but satisfying texture.
