Pouered a hazy golden color with a frosty fluffy head. Smells pretty good, pine hops and rich grapefruit nose. Taste is a bit mild and not so fresh, maybean older bottle. Tasty and diffrent, really thought this was a IPA. msante79 (835), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 29, 2009 12oz bottle from Woodman’s in Madison. Pours clear golden with white head. Aroma is very hoppy for a pale ale. Hops with citrus and some caramel malt. Flavor is crisp with cascade hops, citrus, and a little caramel. Quite hoppy for an American Pale Ale which I really like. Could have passed for an IPA in my opinion. Good stuff. awaisanen (1279), Irvine, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 18, 2009 From a 12oz Bottle. Purchased at Riley’s Wines of the World. Somewhat hazy, pale gold colored pour with a quickly dissipating head of fizzy white. Awesome Cascade hop aroma, very fresh and light with a wonderful floral grapefruit character. Hints of light caramel sweetness as well. Light bodied, moderately carbonated mouthfeel with a crisp, dry finish. The malt character is quite dry with a crackery, almost chalky quality. This is a rare exception for me in that I think a little bit more body might help alleviate the perceived thinness of the malt body. I might even go so far as to suggest adding more caramel malt to the bill. The hops, while amazing in their aromatic qualities, are also a little bit weak on the palate. More bitterness is desired to help cover up some of the grainy malt character. Pleasing hop flavor, but really misses the hop bitterness up front and in the finish. Ah, ha! Reading the commercial description, I see this is exactly what they were going for. That’s nice and all, but not what I want. Still, overall it’s an enjoyable, refreshing, sessionable ale free of any unforgivable flaws. bmanbeck (1), Indiana, USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 9, 2009 Great Cascade hop aroma. The first taste exploded with hop flavor. I could really tell it was one type of hop. Subsequent tastes were more mellow. Overall I really enjoyed this beer. Lothore (276), California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 5, 2009 A- Pours a deep, foggy, orange hue with a nice, creamy 2 finger head after a vigorous pour.
S- Smells grassy with some generic wheaty tones.
T- Tastes starts off a little harsh, maybe a bit mettalic but moves into a nice strong wave of grassy hops and a long bitter finish for an APA. I know it’s not too descriptive but it’s very homebrewesque.
M- Medium bodied with decent carbonation.
D- This is a nice little APA which reminds me a lot of my homebrewed apa. Refreshing.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 19, 2009 Bottle in trade from ROBORB. Thanks man! Pours a light orange and hazy color with medium to long lasting creamy white head. Smell is earthy and grassy hops with light sweetness in the background. Taste is fairly balanced with a bit of a dry dusty, maltiness and the earthy hops show in the flavor as well. Some light, citrus notes in the flavor but more grassy and earthy than anything with a medium lived lightly bitter finish. Medium body and medium to bubbly mouthfeel. A very solid pale ale. Pours a bright hazy orange with a big, fluffy white head that really hangs on stubbornly and leaves some spotty lacing.
The smell is almost that of an IPA, with lots of light fruity hops, especially pineapple and lemon. It smells a lot like some of the dry-hopped IPAs I’ve had. A bit of a bready malt backbone as well.
The taste dials it back toward a typical APA with less hop presence and a little more of the biscuity malts than the aroma suggested.
The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with good carbonation and not quite as full as I would have liked.
This is a decent APA that has a pretty hopped up aroma and a more balanced malt-forward taste where the hops offer more of a supporting role.
