BeerBelcher (750), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Mar 3, 2007 I’ve not yet pursued a beer run to Madison, and this beer is astrong argument for taking such a trip. It is a very intensely fruity APA.
Appearance is a hazy pineapple juice color, with minimal head that clung to the side of my glass. Aroma was very fruity; it smelled like peaches to me. Taste was also very fruity; I got more peach and apricot. It was very good. Mouthfeel was quite smooth, with very fine carbonation. I would definitely recommend this beer.
AndrewKScott (411), Lemont, Illinois, USA Oct 4, 2008 Hazy orangish pour with a thin white head that leaves all sorts of lacing. Smells hoppy, citrusy, and floral with some malt. Flavor is pretty bitter for a Pale ale, but pretty good nonetheless. It’s pretty close to an IPA. Great for hop heads. doubleo (834), San Diego, California, USA Sep 12, 2008 12oz bottle from Badbeer. Pours hazy amber with a thin, crisp white head. Smells nutty and slight citrusy hoppy with a some cereal malts in the background. Tastes nutty and citrusy hoppy, slight hop bitterness. Good malt presence as well. Medium body, good carbonation. xmarcnolanx (680), Kirkwood, Missouri, USA Sep 5, 2008 Aroma is orange, citrus, biscuit, and caramel malt. Some dankness is also present.
Head is long-lasting, slighly gauzy and foam rings around the glass.
Taste is crisp, slight sweetness, some biscuit, and citrus hops.
Nothing is overdone in this beer, but it is well-balanced and quaffable.
Finish is medium, in terms of not having a huge, overwhelming bitterness, but enough to know it is there and it is hoppy.
Some biscuit dries out the finish, but still finishes with some left over gravity.
Solid. igneous1 (1366), Davenport, Iowa, USA Sep 4, 2008 got it at Badger Spirits in Beloit, WI. hazy, copper, excellent lacing, nose is a nice mixture of maltiness and citrus hops, very floral. flavor is initially slightly sweet quickly followed by a nice hoppiness....bit of earthiness to the hops in the finish. not bad at all. noncaloric (112), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Sep 3, 2008 Bottle, pilsner glass. Pop the cap, and a wonderful blend of hop aromas presents itself even before I pour, strongly floral, citrusy, somewhat coniferous. Pours an apricot gold, hazy, with visibly suspended sediments. Moderate white head, leaves a nice lacing. Bitterness is present, but for most of each sip rounded out by sweet malts and even a little tartness. Comparisons to citrus, especially grapefruit and kumquat, are quite apt. Carbonation breaks over the tongue, with accompanying peppery sensations. Floral honey is also present. Only in the finish is bitterness the dominant lingering flavor, and here, it’s accompanied by a lingering warmth and something piercing and fresh, hints of pine and cardamom. Wow.
