miketd (337), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Mar 11, 2008 Pour is deep, hazy orange with a big and creamy white head. Aroma is nicely hopped. Grapefruit and pine. Flavor is bitter up front and tasty. Kinda fades in the middle and end to a slightly watery palate. Good beer, and probably better fresh.
igneous1 (1364), Davenport, Iowa, USA Sep 4, 2008 got it at Badger Spirits in Beloit, WI. hazy, copper, excellent lacing, nose is a nice mixture of maltiness and citrus hops, very floral. flavor is initially slightly sweet quickly followed by a nice hoppiness....bit of earthiness to the hops in the finish. not bad at all. noncaloric (44), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Sep 3, 2008 Bottle, pilsner glass. Pop the cap, and a wonderful blend of hop aromas presents itself even before I pour, strongly floral, citrusy, somewhat coniferous. Pours an apricot gold, hazy, with visibly suspended sediments. Moderate white head, leaves a nice lacing. Bitterness is present, but for most of each sip rounded out by sweet malts and even a little tartness. Comparisons to citrus, especially grapefruit and kumquat, are quite apt. Carbonation breaks over the tongue, with accompanying peppery sensations. Floral honey is also present. Only in the finish is bitterness the dominant lingering flavor, and here, it’s accompanied by a lingering warmth and something piercing and fresh, hints of pine and cardamom. Wow. sneagrams3 (1402), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Aug 29, 2008 The Dan Journal #233. Tasted 8/26/08. 12oz bottle. Hazy with a golden honey hue. Lacing white head. Hoppy aromas with hints of citrus and grapefruit. Sweet note. Medium bodied and bitter. Big palate. Pine and grapefruit hop characters. Mild effervescence. Bitter yet rounded palate. Solid with a hoppy finish. Gimme more! Sparky27 (518), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 28, 2008 12oz bottle courtesy of xmarcnolanx. Pours a hazy honey amber with a half finger of white head and decent lacing. Nose is light citrus hops for the most part with some caramel. Taste is caramel malt upfront, mild grapefruit and some pine in the finish that lingers for a bit. Medium mouth feel. Not bad – thanks Marc. vyvvy (1689), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Aug 24, 2008 Pours bright copper with a large frothy white head. The aroma has lots of delicious grapefruit, pine, floral and light tropical hops and some caramel malt int the background. Medium crisp body with some grainy feel and micro sharp carbonation. The flavor starts a bit thinner than expected with heavy hops on the spicy / piny side and very light malt. The finish is earthy and lightly peppery. Good IPA
