Commercial Description:
This nutbrown alte is velvety smooth with a rich caramel aroma. We blend seven different malts for just the right touch of sweetness and a creamy finish worth craving.

Murky copper/orangeish color with a falling, medium head. Caramel, nutty, slightly buttery aroma. Malty flavor, but not outrageoulsy thick or deep. Lightly nutty, some biscuit. Dry, earthy hop finish.

12oz bottle from a trade (cannot remember who-sorry!). Pours a dark brown with reddish highlights with thin off-white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of caramel, brown sugar, nuts, spice, brown sugar and some hints of nuts. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of chocolate, caramel, brown sugar, light floral hops, hints of molasses and ripe dark fruit, Generally medium body with a pleasing malty finish. Nice ale.

Nutty, with coffee and caramel. Was consumed almost side-by-side with New Glarus Fat Squirrel. Although the Ale Asylum beer is distinctly smoother in palate, the Fat Squirrel has a greater depth of malt character.

Sports a wicked label. Is reddish-brown or cola in color. Smells very nutty and of caramel with piney, citrusy hops. Tastes predominantly of bitter nuts and has a raw, toasted flavor that is refreshing and unique. The same flavor profile shows up in their other beers but here it fits to style with grace.

[1859-20081112] 12floz bottle. Toasted grainy bread yeast aroma. Slightly hazy, brown amber body with a medium-lasting creamy light tan head. Mildly fishy flavour is mostly grainy toasted yeast and some mild floral notes. Medium body is mildly watery. Average.

Bottle from dalzale. Pours a nice dark brown color wtih a tan head. arom ais nutty, sweet, caramel, and some toffee notes. Flavor is very nutty, a bit sweet, with the malt shining in this brew. Not half bad at all. Would be an easy session beer.
