Commercial Description:
This nutbrown alte is velvety smooth with a rich caramel aroma. We blend seven different malts for just the right touch of sweetness and a creamy finish worth craving.

I didn’t find this beer to be all that nutty...it was decent and lightly toffee-ish, but not particularly nutty nor was it overwhelmingly flavorful. Still, this was far from a bad beer, and I think I would rate it above average. This beer pured a nice red color with a tan head. Aroma was a bit of light caramel but was not overly odoriferous. Flavor was a bit light and a bit of toffee and caramel. Body was light and there was not a tremendous amount of mouthfeel. Not bad, and recommended, but far from spectacular.

Wow, really like this beer! Very nutty characteristics. Malty, light hops. Good palate; not overly sweet. Definitely a session beer. Nice light tan head, some lace. Hazy brown color. Good body. Excellent finish. I be back. Had this on draft at Bodega Brew Pub downtown La Crosse, WIsconsin USA

On tap at the Ale Asylum Brew Pub. Poured a deeper and cloudy amberish color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of toasted caramel, a little nutty and some toffee. Tastes of toasted malts, lighter nuttiness, and caramel. Thinner body with lacing left on the glass.

Sampled at Bob’s McFarland Liquors in McFarland, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear coppery brown brew with an average beige head that quickly dissolves to a fine film and ring. Aroma of dark caramel malt, roasted hazelnuts, with a touch of molasses and toffee. Taste is lightly carbonated, medium bodied with flavors of roasted dark malt, some dried fruit and a touch of toffee. Finish is smooth, creamy, slightly sweet with a hint of peach aftertaste.

This brew pours medium brown and offers a nice 2 finger head. The aromas show caramel, molasses and some hazelnut. These flavor push into the beer in a smooth way which offers a complex but yet smooth finish.

(On tap at Outback) This is actaully one of their better tasting beers. Ale Asylum is definelty better at making darker beers than stonger lighter color ales. This one is true to the style yet unique also. Sweet maltiness, nuts, and the right amout of hops for the style. Refreshing

(Tap) Pours a light brown color with a tan head. Sweet aroma. Taste includes caramel, toffee, and even some light coffee flavors. Mouthfeel is rather full and creamy. A good beer, but not up to par with some of the other Ale Asylum offerings.

Dark copper color with just a hint of red. Moderate beige, bubbly head. Toasted malt with a touch of caramel and green hops. Some light cocoa in the mix as well. While not a bad scent, there is not much that typically moves me with this or many other brown ales. Some light caramel sweetness in the front. Some mild fruitiness, fairly plain and nondescript. Light bitterness comes in late quaff, with a touch of lightly salted rancid nuts. Soft on the palate. A mid line brown.
