BeerBelcher (709), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Aug 24, 2007 I didn’t find this beer to be all that nutty...it was decent and lightly toffee-ish, but not particularly nutty nor was it overwhelmingly flavorful. Still, this was far from a bad beer, and I think I would rate it above average.
This beer pured a nice red color with a tan head. Aroma was a bit of light caramel but was not overly odoriferous. Flavor was a bit light and a bit of toffee and caramel. Body was light and there was not a tremendous amount of mouthfeel. Not bad, and recommended, but far from spectacular.
noncaloric (6), Madison, Wisconsin, USA does not count Aug 20, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear red-brown, with a pale creamy head. Bold toasty grain aromas, with significant floral overtones. Not at all viscous, but a vigorous effervescence on the tongue displaces any feelings of wateriness. Initial impessions of barley, caramel, and bright coffee, followed by hoppy bitterness, unfortunately with a touch of a musty element. Coffee and caramel sensations linger on the tongue. Beerlando (1237), Orlando, Florida, USA Aug 13, 2008 A cloudy, dark, reddish amber body is topped by a small cap of cream colored foam. Wet, sudsy lacing leaves minimal spotting behind. The aroma is nice, showing brown sugar, candied pecans, caramel, vanilla, and even hints of golden raison. Some perfumy, floral hops add a touch of bite to the nose. Flavors are smooth and well integrated, pecan and brown sugar working together nicely. There’s a lactic creaminess to this, as well a mild, earthy hop finish. Sweet, but not too sweet. Nice balance. The palate is a little on the light side, but very well carbonated and easy to drink. Overall, this is a nice little nut brown. MartiniFiend (80), Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, USA Aug 9, 2008 Bottle. Dark brown with almost no head. Malt and carmal aroma. medium palate. Nice smooth matl taste with a sweet finish. This is now my favorite brown ale. Grinder (4), Columbus, Wisconsin, USA does not count Aug 5, 2008 I totally love this beer. It has a hint of chocolate in it with nutty/malty over tones.
Very smooth with a tiny bit of hops on the end.
it is one of my favorite Brown Ales MaltOne (61), USA Jul 28, 2008 Started out thin but it got better. Aroma was roasted toffee. Pours a light red-brown. First flavor is dry that evolves to a sweeter finish. Good malty Brown
