Strong aromas of ripe fruit including bananas and pear that overpower the hints of malt and a light herbal hops and mild yeasty dough component. Lots of alcohol and banana in the flavor. A strong triple that while strong with some strong flavors seems to lack a touch of finesse that I would look for in a triple. This and Hopalicious are my favorties at Ale Asylum. Looking forward to getting some more when I go back to Madison troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 22, 2007 (Tap) Pours a golden color with a slight haze. Small, dense white head. Aroma of fruit and yeast. Taste is seemingly wine-like. Grapes and light spice are the most dominant flavors in this one. A small amount of alcohol is also noticeable. Body is pretty good, with little carbonation. A decent beer. iowaherkeye (1863), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 14, 2007 Had this on tap back in October--from some notes. Cloudy orange yellow with a tiny head. Aroma of yeast, candi sugar, peach, faint cereal grain (think Lucky Charms without the marshmellows). Flavor was of bananas, peaches, yeast, some alcohol, light grapes toward the dry finish. Lower carbonation, though what is there is sharp. Medium to full body. Not too bad at all. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 7, 2006 Draught sample at the brewery, mid-October 2006. Translucent gold with scintillating, obvious flecks of suspended yeast; small head dies very quickly....blaanced aroma of sourdough sharpness and syrupy apricots, baked apples mingling with golden raisins and a light farmy pungency adding dimension to it all....fairly sweet, lightly alcoholic (very restrained for an almost 10% beast), light but prominent yeastiness throughout, a bit cookie-ish and syrupy, full with low carbonation. Another winner from this remarkably consistent brewery. MikeHernandez (50), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Dec 1, 2006 This is my favorite beer at the Ale Asylum. It is hazy with a orangish gold hue, average carbonation, medium bodied, semi sweet finish with bitter alcohol taste to complement it. One of my all time favorite beers. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 26, 2006 On tap at the Ale Asylum. This one just didn’t strike the right chords with me... Clear, brighter golden pour with a short cap of white head. Nose was faint and kinda diapery.. sweet light fruits and some floral hops came through along with some brighter white pepper. Flavor was quite sweet with light fruits and other unidentifiable sweetness.. mild floral bitterness and lots of peppery alcohol. The heavy sweetness and peppery booziness didn’t flow so well. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 22, 2006 Draught at the brewery tasting room. Clear golden-orange color with thin white head that didn’t leave any lace. Smells of oak, champaign, white wine, and granny smith apples. Slightly sweet on the tongue with banana, clove, and white wine flavors. IMO, this was their best beer.
