Commercial Description:
The light fruity aroma and subtle flavors of Tripel Nova disguise the euphoric kick that comes after just one serving of this strong Belgian ale.

On tap at brewery. Purty in the glass, the haziness adding to its light peach-yellow. Dainty head. Nice fruity nose that was matched by the apricot, pear, and lemon aroma. Slight spice. A nice rainy day beer

On tap at the brewpub. The body was a slightly hazy medium gold color with a white head. The aroma was funky hay with some leather and some colby cheese. There was also some sweet sourdough pancakes. The taste was funky dry hay with some sweet pears and a little bit of cinnamon. There were traces of alcohol, but this was still fairly smooth.

10oz on tap at Angelic pub in Madison WI (formerly Angelic Brewing Co.). No head unfortunately, poured without care in a traditional 10 oz "draft" glass. Hopefully Ale Asylum and the other American-made belgian-style microbreweries will start giving training to their distribution points. Still, excellent pungent aroma. Lighter in colour and less yeasty/more filtered than many tripels. Overall, a great belgian style addition to the Madison area.

Tap @ Brewery. Fermented fruit aroma. Hazy gold body with white head and lacing. Flavor had a good mixture of fruit apricot, pear and a slight spiceiness. Fruity palate decent beer.

Hazy golden body. Sweet tripel aroma, not much else. Some peppery alcohol starts off the flavor leading to some floral and leafy hops. A sweet undertone throughout but it’s marred by teh peppery alcohol.

Pours to a golden body with a thin white head. The aroma is papaya, bubblegum, and light mangoes and apricots. The flavor is very similar to the aroma. Light papaya, apricots, belgian yeasts, spicy. Some apparent alcohol, but no matter, I still liked it. The palate is a little hot at the back of the throat but has a nice texure and moderate mouthfeel.

tomxcs must have gotten a bad one. Some banana notes in the nose; smells like a hefe. Cloudy orange body with an off-white head. No head and very little lace. Strong alcohol profile; really well made. Excellent; I am impressed. Reminds me of Town Hall’s Tripel Vision.

On tap at the Angelic. Unfortunately I think this was just served incorrectly, either because it was the very bottom of the barrel or because I was one of the first to try it and the keg was shaken up. Body was extremely cloudy -- 100% off-white opaque -- basically looked like it was a banana, that’s how cloudy it was. Aroma was all banana bread and yeast. Flavor was the same, but with some alcohol and vague spice. I realize that this probably is a good beer and I will try it again the next time I’m at the Angelic and rerate.
