It is hazy with a orangish gold hue, average carbonation, medium bodied, semi sweet finish with bitter alcohol taste to complement it. One of my all time favorite beers. This and Hopalicious are my favorties at Ale Asylum. Looking forward to getting some more when I go back to Madison CaptainCougar (5538), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 18, 2007 On tap at the brewpub on 6/22/07: Pours a transparent copper bronze with a pillowy froth of wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of complex sweet pale Belgian malt with some light candi sugar and doughy Belgian yeast with some light fruity esters. Starts with nice sweet light caramel flavor with authentic bready yeasty balance and light fruity complexity with a touch of peppery spice and a smooth finish that hides the abv well. A very nice and true to style Tripel. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

Cloudy orange body with an off-white head. No head and very little lace. Strong alcohol profile; really well made. Excellent; I am impressed. Reminds me of Town Hall’s Tripel Vision. gueuzefarts (4), Wisconsin, USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 13, 2006 10oz on tap at Angelic pub in Madison WI (formerly Angelic Brewing Co.). No head unfortunately, poured without care in a traditional 10 oz "draft" glass. Hopefully Ale Asylum and the other American-made belgian-style microbreweries will start giving training to their distribution points. Still, excellent pungent aroma. Lighter in colour and less yeasty/more filtered than many tripels. Overall, a great belgian style addition to the Madison area.

The last of the three Belgians to be sampled, this was about the halfway point of our session at the Ale Asylum. None of them let me down; this one was actually a little better than I expected.
Aroma / Apperance - White grapes, peaches, wheat, bananas and an undefined airy alcoholic aroma combine to tempt me to give a sip. The body was a cloudy yellow color.
Flavor / Palate - A strong alcoholic presence washes over my entire palate. Finally this goes away to give a combination of caramel candied apple, chocolate, pears, rum and a background base of alcohol. The finish is sweet and burning. Pretty well balanced with a nice combination and complexity, this is one is worth a look. heemer77 (4312), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 22, 2006 On tap at the brewpub. The body was a slightly hazy medium gold color with a white head. The aroma was funky hay with some leather and some colby cheese. There was also some sweet sourdough pancakes. The taste was funky dry hay with some sweet pears and a little bit of cinnamon. There were traces of alcohol, but this was still fairly smooth. hezron (604), Viroqua, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 2, 2006 Funky citrusy aroma, almost smells of barnyard-bret, but I think it is only sulfer-like esters. It combines with the lighter malt to form a complex aroma that is nice to smell. Very cloudy yellow wit ha white head, perhaps too cloudy? eh, whatever. Initial flavor is mostly light and citrusy malt and a touch of banana fruit. The finish has a fun, warming sensation that tells me this is a big beer. The more I drink of it, the more chocolate and fruity-apple like notes stand out a bit. Medium-full body, creamy with a crisp finish. Good stuff.
