A Mes rate: Cask at the Wenlock.
This is a joint brew between Alehouse and Pitfield to commemorate the life of well loved scooper Reg Hallet who passed recently.
Very very dark brown with a thin tan rim round the edges. Aroma of cheese, brown sauce and a slight hint of liquorice. Flavour has big notes of bitter coffee, some sweet alcohol, rich malt and some tobacco. Some faint old beer / mild like character to it also which I really like. Really good bitter finish. Very drinkable for the rather high abv. I could easily get messy on this. Lovely stuff and a worthy tribute to an obviously well liked man.
