Beautiful clear dark amber with a great fluffy tan head that wont go away. Spotty but nice lacing. nice balanced roasted nut and pine aroma. sweet roasted nutty sweet tea flavor with nice bitter piney hop notes. sweet roasted nutty finish. a bit over carbonated.......the kind of over carbonated that makes you burp after every sip....but other than that a very nice solid drinkable balanced ESB. i would drink this one all the time if it was available here. sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 30, 2007 25-ounce bottle. Aroma was slight, carbonation, malt, hops, yeast; all very light in smell. Flavor was rather uninspiring, along the lines of a standard EPA, with grain, hops, a little fruit, and a little malt. Carbonation was evident and I would have preferred a higher alcohol content to bring out the flavors. waolsen (1224), Littleton, Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 28, 2007 bottle. dark copper with huge off white head. citrus hops, caramel, roasted malt aroma. big floral hops, rich malt, peppery bitter finish. slightly metallic. bhensonb (4361), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 27, 2007 LIght malty aroma, hints of stone fruit, arguably a bit of yeast. Possibly some fruit hop. Coppery color with an off-white head that dissolves into lacing. Starts with malt, along with fruity notes. A bit thinnish. Fairly dry finish. No particular hop bitterness - back to the idea of fruity hop. A fair resemblance to English ales; a bit more carbonation perhaps, perhaps a bit more malt, but similar. wetherel (1641), Encinitas, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 22, 2007 Alesmith has a spectacular way of making beer to provide a great creamy, lingering head. Nice mellow hop aroma, tan color, probably very popular for non-geek beer drinkers. I rated it lower, only because I prefer big beers. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 20, 2007 Pours a cloudy dark maroon with a very thin light white head. Really interesting smell. Kind of vegetal, some melon, and other fruits. A little spice too. Kind of bitter hops, a little fruit and a touch of caramel in the finish. Really easy drinking, good session brew. Another taste I get is celery or some other greens. Very interesting and quite pleasant to drink. aspidites (1274), manteca, California, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Apr 18, 2007 Nose of bready malts, earthy noble hops and a touch of diacetyl. Yeast and caramel notes with an underlying bad buttered popcorn character {diacetyl}.
