Commercial Description:
Bright copper color, sparkling clarity, and good foam retention when properly served. Appealing Brussels lace. Deep toasty/caramelly malt balanced by spicy/fruity hop flavors accented by fruit esters resulting from fermentation with a championship yeast strain. The aroma is subtle and reflects the flavor with malt, hop and fruit (ester)/fermentation characteristics. Smooth, medium-bodied. Easy drinking with no harsh or astringent sensations.

Bottle graciously given to me by Hogtown Harry (what a guy!) to share with Jerc. Light hazy brown with a small white head. Nice strong earthy hop aroma - sweet and fruity. Nice ESB taste - a balance between sweetness, fruit, and hops - wonderful. Medium body. I call session! This is as good of an interpretation of this style in North America that I have found.

@ Alesmith: Hazy copper color. Malty aroma with notes of toffee and nuts. Malty caramel flavor has a light bitterness to the finish. Nice session beer.

bottle. hazy orange-copper with a small white top. aroma is quite yeasty with orange hops, biscuit, and toast. I enjoy this style when it’s done right, it’s so easy to drink. flavourful chewy hops and caramel malt. soft balance. a very good session ale.

Bottle (650ml). Shared with R, blankboy, GregClow, DougShoemaker, and mds, courtesy of GregClow. Poured hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma of tea, mild hops, dried flowers, decent malt backbone - doesn’t jump out at you but it’s light and appealing. Taste also a mellow balance of malt and hops - this could be the perfect session beer. Juicy and creamy mouthfeel, average body, quick balanced finish. Very nice - another great AleSmith, and a terrific example of an american ESB.

22 oz bottle, via trade with Fordest. Pours a clear copper with a small off-white head. Lightly malty nose with plenty of floral hops. Sweet and lightly fruity as well. Flavor is nicely balanced with a light malt base and light bitter hoppiness. Mouthfeel is the highlight of this beer for me. Lighter bodied with perfect bottle conditioned soft carbonation. As good as the flavor is, the mouthfeel certainly outshines it. Overall just a really good session beer (flavor wise, not ABV wise at 5.5%). If this were available to me locally it would be a staple in my beer diet.

Poured an effervescent amber with a semi-creamy off-white head. Aroma of crisp grapefruit bitter hops and sweet caramel. Flavor is mild grapefruit hops, honey, caramel and orange. Very clean, slightly sweet finish. Slick, creamy body. Extremely balanced and easy-drinking. Excellent.

It has a nice, roasty aroma to it. It has a good, amber-brown appearance, with little head, with a medium bitter flavor that is appealing. It has a nice, full body, with decent carbonation and texture. Overall, a pretty good beer.

Slightly hazy coppery gold body. Pretty nice looking. Bubbly/soapy head with lingering lace. Light sugary fruit aroma. Stale honey component in there too. Light hop character... a bit of grapefruit. Aroma comes out a bit more as it warms (it started a little cold). Light hoppy taste. Some fruit and rye-like malt. Nice overall taste and overall beer. Would drink this often if I lived in San Diego.
