Commercial Description:
Bright copper color, sparkling clarity, and good foam retention when properly served. Appealing Brussels lace. Deep toasty/caramelly malt balanced by spicy/fruity hop flavors accented by fruit esters resulting from fermentation with a championship yeast strain. The aroma is subtle and reflects the flavor with malt, hop and fruit (ester)/fermentation characteristics. Smooth, medium-bodied. Easy drinking with no harsh or astringent sensations.

A mild sweet fruit aroma. Body looked amber to me but was at a dimly lit pub. Good head and above average lacing on glass. Detected mosly a fruit flavor and that for beer with bitter in the name beer was clean on the palate not overbitter. Refreshing brew.

Bottle: Light copper color with very little head and light lacing. The nose is very perfumey with light floral hops and creamy malt notes. The flavor is balanced, a bit light but it blends well with the nose. A nice traditional ESB without any over bitterness.

Bottle. Pours copper. First things first, although this looked like it was have alot of spark to the mouthfeel from the bubbles, it was surprisingly smooth. Okay, the nose was spicy hops, some malt sweetness a bit as well. Flavor was not as full as the nose, mainly hoppy with sweet undertones. No big deal. Very drinkable and refreshing, but I expected more from Alesmith.

Really nice deep copper color to this beer with a good size off white head. It leaves behind a nice lacing down the glass. The aroma has that roasted maltiness to it with some toffee and brown sugar as well. The flavor was impressive with the maltiness coming through first, with a little bit of hops coming through as well. This was a very enjoyable brew.

Bottle. Rich honey amber with an off-white head. Malty/caramel aroma. Toffee/caramel flavor with some citrus hop and spice. Medium body and easy drinking. Not a bad take on an ESB.

Bought bottle at brewery and consumed shortly thereafter. Copper color with decent beige head. Fruity aroma with some caramel in flavor. Tastes to be "west coast" hopped, which makes an interesting combination on a traditionally English style. Well carbonated. Better than average, but not stellar like most of the others from this brewer.

Nice deep amber red with a small white head. Malty aroma of caramel and biscuits. Flavor has notes of toasted malt, caramel, toffee, apple and ends with a touch of dark fruits/chocolate. Not too sweet.Has a pleasant, subdued hop bitterness which hits the back of the tongue. Medium body with a smooth texture and subtle carbonation. No lacing or head retention though. Overall, pretty good.

Courtesy of Pailhead. Pours medium brown/amber highlights. No head. Musty caramel malt aroma with some floral hop background. Flavor is all sweet malt with a strange fruit character, the yeast in the description I’d assume. Average but drinkable.
