Mar 22, 2005 Hazy orange amber with a pretty creamed head. Texture is very smooth. Very balanced. Sweet hopes. A little honey and green leaves. Some butterscotch. Pine resin. Great clean bitter.

Mar 21, 2005 Floral, herbal, perfumey, earthy hop nose with some underlying malty caramel. Hazy brown with shy and thin cover of white head. Caramel malt flavour but well-attenuated and dry with some floral, earthy, perfumey hop flavour. Medium-light body with low to fair carbonation. Not one of the better beers I’ve had from this brewery but certainly a drinkable one even if I was hoping for better. Bottle sampled with Lubiere and Rastacouere.

Mar 21, 2005 Brown body with reddish reflects. Dull short-lasting off-white head. Fairly typical nose, an average blend of malt and hops. Slightly floral and stale goldings while the malts come out earthy, rather husky and almost grainy. Pretty dry on the tongue, almost sandy. Feels oxidized to me, husky malts and orangey hops providing a toothpaste reminiscent grassy/minty/soapy hop profile. Dull palate, light-medium body, lightly oily. Huh.. Where’s the rich Alesmith malt?

Mar 16, 2005 I don’t think I’ll type what I wrote down for this beer during Iceman’s party. All I’ll say is that the word "caramel" appears once while the word "mofo" pops up repeatedly. Is "mofo" even a word?

Mar 14, 2005 Bottle. Pours a light amber color, thin white head, without much lacing. Aroma is nice and malty, fruity and estery, I really liked the aroma. Bitter flavor, but there’s enough malt to back it up, some woody and spicy flavors in there too. Finish is bitter, and some fruity characteristics come through in there. Very smooth, good carbonation levels, mouthfeel is about the right level for an ESB. One of the better ESB’s that I’ve had, as good as the Rogue and much better than Fuller’s in my opinion.

Mar 13, 2005 Updated: Apr 2, 2005I don’t know if this was a bad bottle. Low carbonation, little to no head. Color is good, but almost nothing on the nose. Taste there is a little mid palate, saltyness on the outside back of the tongue, malts do not come through like they should.

Mar 8, 2005 Updated: Mar 9, 2007Pours a brownish/orange sort of color. Fair amount of foam. Aroma is malty and sort of sour. Mild malty flavor. Malty bitter finish. Hint of hops towards the end. Pretty good ESB.
