Bottle shared by someone at "Drink for Charity" event at Rattle N Hum. Deep brown beer with a thin deep tan head. Aroma is quite chewy and sweet. Loads of nice chewy oaky character. Oak, bourbon and a soft coffeeish sweetness. Sweet and creamy. A bit of chewy vanilla, some light molasses and some more bourbon over the top. One of the most bourbony beers I’ve ever had, but in this background it actually works well. It’s quite boozy initially but it settles down with the boubon playing nicely with the dark cocoa and molasses. Pretty damn tasty, really.

Bottle shared by Sparky27 at hellbilly’s holiday tasting. Deep black pour with a small creamy tan head that lasts throughout. Aroma of bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt and nuts, and coffee. Flavor is all of the above and then some. Keeps getting better as it warms. Creamy and smooth. Amazing! Definitely THE beer of the night. Thank you VERY much Eric. You are the man!

Bottle shared by swolf3 and enjoyed with GMCC2181 and their friend Andrew. An amazing thursday evening tasting. Thanks for inviting me guys, just amazing. Pours a medium statured tan head, retention is very good as is the lacing. Dark dark brown colored brew with a pretty ruby glow to it. Nose is in yer face coffee, whisky and wood fu*&#n pungent too. Silky smooth body, fully creamy and viscous , large but easily quaffed. Bold flavors of whisky that was NOT overdone, roast, vanilla and more lumber, kinda raw(young) but thats ok with me. Notes of chocolate and caramel and an interesting earthyness. Alot happenein here. Fruity, roasty, liquory finish. Gotta age well for at least another year. A real stunner. Thanks Steve for sharing and Gabe for inviting me, you fuckin guys rock!. Umm yeah, i really fuckin enjoyed this.

A HUGE thanks to Sparky27 for sharing this with the Phoenix crew. Pours a deep brownish black with a nice tan head. Aroma is bourbon barrel, roasted malts, chocolate, nuts, vanilla, bourbon. Flavor is bourbon, oak, vanilla, roasted barley, coffee, chocolate, nice creamy mouthfeel with just the right balance of bourbon and just the right sweetness. This is liquid heaven in a bottle, what a fantastic beer. Almost perfect.

Sampled at the Ohio group tasting on DLD eve ’09. Huge thanks to Brad and/or Mike for sharing. Dark brown pour with a medium tan head. Whole lotta bourbon in the nose with some vanilla and licorice. Vanilla and oak flavor up front with a rush of bourbon to close it out. Not bad, but will probably be excellent with a bit more age on it.
