Bottle shared by iowaherkeye. 2006 vintage. Bottle 146 of 235. Thanks! Poured an opaque black color. The head was brown with an orange tint. Smelled of chocolate, vanilla, and distinct dog food that detracted somewhat. Full bodied and slightly sweet with a hint of bourbon. I also tasted vanilla, toffee, and some roasted malt.

4th Beer of the Beer Spot Tasting Sunday March 30th, 2008. Bottle provided by Westsidethreat, thanks Skye. 04 Vintage Bottle. #50/228. Pours black with a light brown ring. Nose is sick, bourbon, coffee, and chocolate with rich deep malts. Taste is sweet, bourbon with a big sweet chocolate feeling. Really nice and oh so awesome. This beer has been a long long long time coming for me and it was worth the wait.

2006 bottle shared with half owner Eric. Pours an almost black color with a fairly big bubled brown head. God this shit is good. Aroma has tons of chocolate and bourbon followed by molasses, roasted malt and some coffee and oak notes. Flavor is full, rich and goddamn good. Bourbon integrates so well in this beer it is ridiculous. Coffee notes in the nose aren’t really evident on the tongue...but the wood, vanilla, bourbon, chocolate, brown sugar, molasses and slight hop bite is noticeable in every sip. The progression from cold to warm is quite amazing in this beer...a real gem. Hell yeah.

Sampled at RBSG 2006- Grand Tasting. 2004 vintage. pours the color of road tar on a hot summer day. Scent is sweet caramel and chocolate. Tastes like coffee grounds and chocolate covered cherries. This is real good. I wish I had a bathtub full.

Bottle. 2007 Vintage #46/447. Blackish beer with a nice tan head. Bourbon, rich malt, vanilla, and light coffee aroma. Bourbon, malt, vanilla, light fruity flavor with of course, coffee. Medium-plus bodied. Bourbon lingers with vanilla, rich malt, and light coffee. Lighter bodied than expected. Bourbon components are strong, but they complement more than in the BAON I’d had.

Huge thanks to fordest for this one. 2006 Silk Screen bottle #187/233. Pours with a huge, dark brown head over a very black body with some lace. Aroma of nutty fudge, bourbon, oak, vanilla, light coffee, liquid amazingness, florals and soil. I literally smelled this beer for 15 minutes without tasting a single sip. Taste is chocolate, coffee, oaky, brandy, bourbon and a bit nutty. Very smooth and silky mouthfeel.

Bottled @ Jbrus’. Aroma has chocolate, coffee, roast, oak, cherry and so much more. Black coloured beer with a brown head and an oily texture. The taste is sweet and has confit fruitiness, different sorts of liquors, prunes, whisky, oak/wood, chocolate, coffee, roast. There is also a touch of lactic sourness/milk chocolate. Full bodied with a lingering palate. Complex and well balanced. This is truely a wonderfull brew.
