Aroma of chocolate, coffee, cherries, vanilla. Strong and lasting complex flavour, chocolate, coffee, lactic notes. So complex and yet so balanced. Way better than regular version, although i haven’t compared them side by side. An extraordinary brew, very, very good. caesar (3034), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands

This is the second time I've had this brew, and yes its a winner. Last years Speedway(yes now my favorite, this year's isn't close yet), on top of a smooth, but not overwelming bourbon flavor. Mouthfeel was silky and full, perfect for an Imp. Finish was balanced between the sweetness that is always present in a good Imp and the slight bitterness and bourbon flavor of the aging. Excellent Stout! Thxs, Loweredsixth! cquiroga (370), Sylmar, California, USA

Poured out of 750 mL bottle, sampled at Dr. Bill and Steiny’s 8th Annual 12-Hour Beer Festival in Orange, CA 8/28/04. 2002 Vintage, bottle #54. Pours a dark black-brown with very little head, brown. Completely opaque. Big sweet, round, bourbony nose. Huge dark sweet malts, wood, bourbony filth. Pretty impressive. Big bitterness and darkly dirty flavor-- awesome but a bit harsh. Nutty and dirty but very elegant and surprisingly smooth. Delicious rich burnt nuts. Velvety and cooling, but warming with alcohol and bright pepper. Incredibly smooth and subtly nasty finish. Amazing beer. I think it gets better every time I try this. A fitting and wonderful birthday treat, a terrific capper to a great beer-drinking day, and a special experience for my 200th rating. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

The aroma consists of heavy maple sugars, bourbon, smoke, and earthy oak barrel. Very smooth, delicate, barrel-imparted flavours. Toasted caramel, chocolate, and raw coffee beans. Very drinkable considering how full and rich this stuff is. Some hints of alcohol nearing the finish.
Awesome stuff!
