This beer was on draught at OBriens. The beer poured an opaque color w/ slight reddish hues, brown thin lasting head and lacing. The aroma was big with lots of whiskey, vanilla, oak, coffee, roast, and a hint of chocolate on the finish. The flavor had whiskey, vanilla, oak, chocolate and roast w/ a milky finish. The mouthfeel was full bodied, well rounded and creamy.

Sampled at RBSG 2006- Grand Tasting. 2004 vintage. pours the color of road tar on a hot summer day. Scent is sweet caramel and chocolate. Tastes like coffee grounds and chocolate covered cherries. This is real good. I wish I had a bathtub full.

Taster – 2008 Great Salt Lake Festivus – Beer Session – One of the best beers I have ever had. This was a huge Impy Stout with so many flavors. It was a beer to be drank slowly and savored. Did I also mention it was a limited brew number 98/228 (2004) in this series. Loved the coffee, chocolate and barrel flavors this beer is one for the books.

Bottle #79/235 from the 2006 batch. Rating #4000. Thanks to MaltOMeal for this one! Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty coffe and chocolate aroma with some hints of bourbon and vanilla and some oak hints. Strong roasted malty chocolate and coffee flavor with some hints of vanilla and dark fruit. Raosted malty dark chocolate and molasses finish with some woody vanilla hints in the aftertaste and also some bitterness in the aftertaste. Lovely!! Thanks agian Bill for this bottle.

Draft from Dec ’05 in SD Obriens right before the Strong Ale Fest. Opaque jet black pour with thin small head. Big roasted coffee and dark malt aroma, with some notes of vanilla and oak. Smooth and silky creamy. Loats of roasted malts balanced with big coffee flavors, with vanilla, some oak and touches of bourbon, with some chocolate as well. This was most excellent.

Sampled at RBSG06. Dark black color with a thin brown head. Rich chocolate and roasted malt aroma. Sweet chocolate and roasted malt flavor, very smooth flavor for the alcohol.
