2006 bottle #193 graciously provided by fiver29 to share at the 7/5/08 Bock Bash locals tasting. Pours a pitch black with tan head. Nose is bourbon, coffee, chocolate and roasted nuts. Taste is bourbon, roasted coffee beans, dry cocoa, dark fruits and some hops in the finish. Full, creamy mouth feel. Great brew – wouldn’t say it’s head and shoulders above the regular speedway (one of my favorites of all time), but very good in its own right. Thanks for allowing us the opportunity John!

07 was a bad year. I just had the last batch released in 08, which was amazing. Imagine a speedway on steroids. Dark chocolate, roasted coffee, thick sticky mouth feel, with a smooth bourbon finish. Top 5 best beers I have ever had.

Amazing coffee-malt-bourbon aroma comes from this oily black stout. Complex flavor mask the high alcohol content perfectly. I've never had a beer so well blended, aftertaste of coffee/bourbon works perfectly together. Thanks to egajdis for bringing this bottle to the RB Philly Gathering.

Bottled, #113. Black, small head. Aroma of chocolate and whiskey, Roasty with very rich maltiness. There’s some molassess and coffee there, still it feels dry. Flavours are really intensive, and still they’ve managed to get good balance among all the huge flavours. Salty licorice and bourbon in the finish.

2006 bottle from Mashmaster, shared @jbrus’s place. Dark chocolate in the aroma, with hints of oak and ash. Full bodied, thick mouthfeel. Milk chocolate, fruit confit and oak in the flavor. Cacao. Whisky in the finish. Very complex and brilliant beer. Thanks Mashmaster, for giving me and the Dutch RB’íans the chance to taste this world class beer.

Brewed in 2002:#7 of 115: Jet black pour. Small,dark brown,almost grey head.Smallest,creamy bubbles form a nice full ring,with sticky lace. Potent bourbon,wood, aroma. Maybe some chocolate. Elegant mouthfeel. Extremely soft,silky,and full. Chewy,chocolate,bourbon/wood,coffee flavors. Lots of dark fruit. Finish is soft,chewy caramel,coffee,and slightest burnt wood flavor. Lingering coffee and chocolate. Dessert and coffee in one. So soft and creamy it is extremely drinkable. Much more smooth and refined than the 2003 I had the other day.

Wow. Wow! WOW! Another amazing Alesmith production. This beautifully dark black stout amazes from start to finish. Aged in a whiskey barrel cask, the taste of whiskey and chocolate blend together perfectly. The appearance is a dark black color with a dark tan head. As you take a sip, all the flavors hit you at once - a great beer. Kudos to the Alesmith brewers.

Pitch black coloured body with a very nie brown head that lasts for such a while. Aroma of vanillla, oak, coffee, sugar and perfectly roasted malt. Heavy-bodied; Super strong sweet flavour with plentiful amounts of coffee, chocolate and roasted malt. Aftertaste very sweet and potent - an amazing finish! So great to try, such an unexpected tread for the day! I sampled this 75 cL bottle at O’Brien’s in San Diego, California on 23-September-2006 with ’haddon90’!
