Bottle thanks to Blake! Poured translucent deep copper with a short, loose ring of beige head.. left a thin film. Aroma was truly excellent with rich, aged toffee and caramel.. sweet candied fruits emerge with warmth.. a fruity hoppage accents. Flavor had a toasty older caramel and candied fruit base accented by some warm (but restrained compaired with at release) alcohol.. left a warm, lightly smoky finish for quite a while. Warm and thick on the palate with moderate bitterness.. fantastic stuff!

Bottle poured clear brown in color with a nice tan head. Aroma was dark caramel, dates, small amount of chocolate and alcohol. The flavor had a clean dark fruit taste wth caramel malt, good carbonation and mouthfeel. Very smooth with not much alcohol noticed.

Sample from Odeed; Nose of spicy caramel malt, dark friut, and a little alcohol; murky medium brown with a small beige head; Flavor was a little tart caramel, spices, and alcohol in a medium body with a little bitterness for a finish.

750ml. 2005 version aged 2 years. Pour is a deep garnet color. Not much in the way of head. Aroma is strong and attractive even from several feet away. Huge malt aroma that includes chocolate, caramel, and just a hint of alcohol. Flavor is a delicious swirling mix of flavors that are hard to nail down but fantastic anyway. Especially smooth body. Most excellent beer, easily worthy of their 10th anniversary. I can’t wait to try the other bottle. Maybe next year.

750ml, cellar aged almost 2 years. pours a beautiful deep dark red with thin tan head. nose has nice aged qualities, sweet dark fruits, cherries, tobacco, brown sugar, hint of smoke and charred wood. oh man this has aged nicely, beautifully rounded out full flavored tobacco, plums, tar, whiskey, brown sugar. alcohol is very well hidden! (I remember that being of debate on the forums over a year ago and this baby is not hot anymore) mouthfeel is full and almost sticky. carbonation is low. i dont think this is even peaking now but you can rest a sure they’re aging wonderfully. if you have a few and haven’t cracked one recently i’d go ahead and do it, if you only have 1 i’d probably wait another year. 4.3.

750ml bottle. aged 3 years. pours brown with off white head. aroma is fruity, grapefruit, tobacco. flavors of tobacco, plums, dried fruit, toffee, hints of chocolate, very smooth and the notes have melded together very well.4.1.

Shared bottle thanks to CMUBEERMAN. I have the wonderful opportunity (thanks to Andrew) of tasting this side by side with the barrel-aged version. Vintage 2005. Pours ruby/orange, off white head. Aroma is pine, anise, molasses, grass (way sweeter aroma than the barrel aged same vintage). Flavor is sweet: fruit, malt, alcohol, tomato, pine. The barrel aged Decadence is superior.

shared by EDA at the CL anniversary party. lightly hazy brown in color. Aroma- great blend of caramel, dark fruits, some pipe tobacco, maybe a dash of smoke. Taste is rich and malty, with dark fruits, raisins- toffee, maybe some hints of tobacco. Finishes smooth and malty, with some hints of light spice. Another beer that has aged extremely well. Thanks Mike!

Thanks JOe and Jen- September 2006: Orange red color with a small head on top. Alcohol and plum taste nice and medium long lasting.
