Feb 1, 2006 Sweet and full bodied. Some hops in the aroma as well as alcohol and raisins, flavor is mostly malt and alcohol, but there is rotting fruit as well.

I split this bottle with a friend that really isn’t into beer and he said he liked it.

Aroma was spicy with lots of fruit cake aroma and rich malts...and lots of alcohol. Pour was hazy reddish brown with a smallish fast fading head. Flavor was sweet and malty with lots of spiced rum/fruit cake flavors that mirroed the aroma. Not quite as deep and complex as other Alesmith beers, but still fantastic.

Jan 30, 2006 Poured a brown hue, aroma was a little sweet and spicy with some hops. Flavor was a little hoppy and sweet, with some caramel maybe. Alcohol wasnt hidden to well for my taste though, it was fairly strong in the finish.

Jan 26, 2006 Red/amber color with a slight lacing. A molasses nose, sweet, with a hint of rum aroma. Warm on the tast with a slight finish of sweetness slowly followed by hops at the end. A great beer....wish I would haved tasted it earlier on in the night before the other wine and beers!

Jan 22, 2006 Rummy sweet aroma, hint of molasses. Faintest whiff of earthy hops. Rich and warming, yet not alot of apparent alcohol. Complex sugars. This is fantastically complex. Sugar plum fairies are dancing in my head. Thanks for sharing, Duane!

Jan 17, 2006 A dark brown hue. Malty, with lots of caramel flavor. Smooth and sweet, with the alcohol hidden very well. Could probably use a few more months in the cellar. Slightly bitter finish. This beer kicks ass.

Jan 13, 2006 This is one of the most killer beers I have ever had. Interestingly complex in the flavor and aroma. A strange mixture of fruity aromas, everything from cherries to melon to the maltiness which is full of big breadiness, caramel and chocolate. Everything about this beer is given away in the aroma and one of the likely few that follows through in the flavor. For the most part very well balanced, aftertaste kind of drops off, with the lingering flavor focusing on the alcohol. Overall never disapointing and very full of flavor.

Jan 10, 2006 Poured a ruby red color with a small, off whte head that left lacing on the glass. Aroma of cherries, caramel malt, melon, anise. Taste of chocolate, cherries, caramel malt, and strong alcohol finish. I really enjoyed this beer
