The aroma is sweet with notes of alcohol and lots of fruit, leaning towards the over ripe end of life. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, prunes, over ripe fruits, wood, and alcohol, that prickles the tongue. The end is dry and woody. joergen (8627), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 2, 2005 There is a rich malty aroma with hints of the alcohol coming through. The appearance is a nice copperish brown with a rich creamy head. There is a strong malty taste at the start but then the appearance of dark fruit comes through. The body is cloying and the finish on the palate is satisfying. turbo (1254), Arizona, USA

Cask, which i will rate, to me, rendered the beer as it had aged a year. Pours a brownish/amber hue with an off-white head. Aromas of caramel, coffee, smoke. Flavors of roasted malt, honey, nuts, brown sugar, yummm.... medium bodied, and with the cask, the alcohol isn’t noticeable. This is like a hybrid of old numbskull, a hint of speedway and some wee heavy for good measure.
