Commercial Description:
Imperial Evil Dead Red Ale (also known as Dead by Dawn)

Alesmith's Decadence Anniversary Ale was originally brewed in 2005 to celebrate our first decade in business. The brewers at Alesmith had such a great time concocting Decadence that they decided to make it an annual event, and brew a new style each year to commemorate our Anniversary. The second release in the Decadence series, Dead by Dawn, was inspired by our own seasonal specialty ale, Evil Dead Red. What if we made it bigger, bolder and even more evil? The result is Decadence 2006 Dead by Dawn, a devilicious auburn-colored ale with a complex sweet caramel maltiness balanced by the just the right amount of hop bitterness. Dead by Dawn showcases an enticing hop flavor and intense hop aroma that rounds out this rich, full-bodied ale. Join our Anniversary Celebration with Decadence. You'll soon discover why Alesmith is known around the world as the place to find Legendary Craftsmanship.

Bought this to celebrate passing the CFP(r) Board Examination. Pours out a deep reddish brown color with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet with notes of malt and fruit. Flavor is very sweet and malty at first but soon is taken over by the fruit and hops. This is a fantastic brew. AleSmith did not let me down with this jewel.

3rd LCRBM. Aroma has hops, yeast, fruits and malts. Hazy, orange-brown coloured with an off-white, thin head. Taste is sweet with a nice bitterness. It has fruits, hops, and caramel malts. Thick mouthfeel. Nice.

Dark red-brown, hazy; no head left but small coloured rim. Very vinous, higher alcohols, fruity esters and smells of fruits on brandy. C-hops taste, sweet cognac, dried, chocolate-drenched raisins, as from a -yes - decadent childrens’ fondue. Unfortunately the hops make the end quite wry. Very well-bodied, alcoholwarming. Nice, terribly powerful beer, vinous as none. Pity about the raw finish.

Bottle@LCRBM. Sweet, spiced and well hopped aroma. Hazy, brown color, yellowish head, good lace. Sweet, raisin, pepper, fruity, other spices as well, sticky mouthfeel. Very well balanced. High drinkablilty although 9.9% ABV.
