So afer reading that this may be st it’s prime, The Bride and I decided it was time to go ahead and sample this. after a messy opening, it poured a almost purplish red with a pretty sizeable beige head aroma was a lot of English toffee, mixed with some molasses and brown sugar. Very rich and smooth. Flavor wa sweet, a lot of toffee, and vanilla in the background. As it warms, notes of almond or black walnut emerge. some rum, and just the slightest hint of coffee in the background. The second pour was cloudier and yeastier, as one might imagine, ith a few grassy and herbal notes. Fabulous beer. faroeviking (6025), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands

Ummm, beer paint. Rerate; Now that I have had time to clean my kitchen I am ready to add a few things. I have NEVER had a bad beer from Alesmith so I was taken aback by the wave of beer that splattered me. I really need to get my ego in check and take all my beer out of my windows and stop trying to impress my neighbors. hillfiiiiire (284), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

The flavor is a subdued hop character that I would assume got that way through a little aging. Definitely plenty of caramel malts come out as a result. The flavor has a wonderfully pleasant note of chocolate in it as well, which I wouldn’t expect an a red ale. I really can’t get over well the caramel and chocolate come across in the flavor either. It’s fantastic. It finishes nice and smooth a a solid creamy body. Guys at Alesmith have done a great job here. ketchepillar (480), Viña del Mar, Chile

I love the unexpected chocolate in lighter hoppier beers. A little bit of alcohol in the aroma and taste, but not too much. Anise. Good looking beer. Palate is solid but nothing too special. Chocolate in the finish is really really good, but the hops aren’t that great.
