Commercial Description:
Imperial Evil Dead Red Ale (also known as Dead by Dawn)

Alesmith's Decadence Anniversary Ale was originally brewed in 2005 to celebrate our first decade in business. The brewers at Alesmith had such a great time concocting Decadence that they decided to make it an annual event, and brew a new style each year to commemorate our Anniversary. The second release in the Decadence series, Dead by Dawn, was inspired by our own seasonal specialty ale, Evil Dead Red. What if we made it bigger, bolder and even more evil? The result is Decadence 2006 Dead by Dawn, a devilicious auburn-colored ale with a complex sweet caramel maltiness balanced by the just the right amount of hop bitterness. Dead by Dawn showcases an enticing hop flavor and intense hop aroma that rounds out this rich, full-bodied ale. Join our Anniversary Celebration with Decadence. You'll soon discover why Alesmith is known around the world as the place to find Legendary Craftsmanship.

3rd LCRBM. Malt, loads of malt in fact and red berries in the abundant aroma. Well hopped, flowery with red berries. Grapefruit. Thick and malty. Long hopbitter aftertaste. Great beer!

Attractive burnt caramel pour with no head. Nose is sweet and dried fruit, while the flavor goes more rye malt and iced tea. A bit oxidized. I feel bad for sitting on this, possibly for too long.

This poured brown in color with mahogony highlights and a moderate beige head of medium-sized bubbles. The nose showed off sweeter scents of toffee, caramel malt, fudge and molasses. In the mouth it was medium-bodied with good carbonation and oxidized flavors. While I don’t mind the oxidation it seems that this has overshadowed the complexity.

Ruby red with a viscous tan head. big aroma is oxidized with sweet bready malts. Medium body and softly carbonated. Flavor is big and bold toasted caramel sweet yeasty bread. Tasted a little bit of hops in a burp. Finishes with a spicy alcohol bitterness. Mosl of the time i enjoy aged, oxidized brews, so this one was fine by me.

Thanks to Secret Santa. So afer reading that this may be st it’s prime, The Bride and I decided it was time to go ahead and sample this. after a messy opening, it poured a almost purplish red with a pretty sizeable beige head aroma was a lot of English toffee, mixed with some molasses and brown sugar. Very rich and smooth. Flavor wa sweet, a lot of toffee, and vanilla in the background. As it warms, notes of almond or black walnut emerge. some rum, and just the slightest hint of coffee in the background. The second pour was cloudier and yeastier, as one might imagine, ith a few grassy and herbal notes. Fabulous beer.
