Commercial Description:
The third offering in our series of Decadence Anniversary Ales, is a big, rich Imperial Porter. Brewed to the parameters of a classic Porter, Decadence 2007 has the intense aromas of dark malt and chocolate complimented by a lusciously smooth mouthfeel. The flavor is rich and malty, and balanced with just the right amount of English East Kent Goldings hops. The aftertaste will leave you pining for more, so don’t miss out on this release of Decadence 2007. Once it’s gone, it’s gone!

Pours dark brown with thin head. Aroma of sweet caramel and coffee. Taste of balanced roasted coffee, soy sauce. Nice carbonation. Overall very good. Similar to Speedway in my opinion but not as big on the coffee.

Rich coffee aroma, dark brown, small tan head. Boozy coffee, hot like vodka and thin bodied for and impy porter IMO

2007 Vintage

April/May 2008: AleSmith Decadence 2007 is brown in color with a lasting tan-colored head. It has a nice aroma of chocolate and caramelized malts and lots of milk chocolate in the flavor. There is a bit of alcohol through the nose in the slightly dry finish. This beer is extremely smooth and is such a HUGE porter. It is excellent and I look foward to drinking another bottle sometime soon!

750 mL bottle. Rating #249 for this beer.

Bottle. Black pour with a thin tan head. Creamy malt aroma with some chocolate and booze and lots of vanilla. Vanilla flavor up front with chocolate, alcohol and a coffee finish. Fantastic.

750 ml bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours dark brown with a medium fine beige head. The aroma had a big roasted malt, dark chocolate, and coffee intro with hints spice, dark fruits, and alcohol. The flavor is more dark roasted malt, dark chocolate, and espresso. There are vinous like notes throughout. An earthy bitterness shows up in the finish. The alcohol is at times too much and perhaps will calm with age. Medium bodied and very smooth for what it is. Finish was on the dry side.

Bottle thanks to Ibrew2or3 for the share! Poured a dark, cloudy honey color with a thin beige head. Nose is quite boozy with hints of over-ripe fruit rasin maybe, chocolate. Medium bodied with a decent amount of carbonation. Flavor is vinous with strong caramel malt notes, rasin or prune, chocolate and a little coffee. Good.

With thanks to HogTownHarry. Appearance: Pitch black with a nice large pancake mix head. Aroma: Chocolate, latte, raisins, hops, yeast and a tiny hint of alcohol. Deliciously creamy. Flavour: Glorious, peat - like an Irish pub, coffee, bourbon, malty and quite hoppy, chocolatey and a creamy mouth feel with a long wood/coffee finish.
