Commercial Description:
The third offering in our series of Decadence Anniversary Ales, is a big, rich Imperial Porter. Brewed to the parameters of a classic Porter, Decadence 2007 has the intense aromas of dark malt and chocolate complimented by a lusciously smooth mouthfeel. The flavor is rich and malty, and balanced with just the right amount of English East Kent Goldings hops. The aftertaste will leave you pining for more, so don't miss out on this release of Decadence 2007. Once it's gone, it's gone!

750 ml bottle from BevMo LaJolla. Pours thick brown, opaque with slight hints of ruby when held to light and a foamy tan head. Rich aroma of roasty malts, molasses, bakers chocolate, alcohol, hints of soy sauce, along with floral and herbal notes. Flavor is also rich and roasty, more of the dark, bitter chocolate and molasses, warming alcohol, fudge sauce and a little astringent herbiness in the finish. Full body, smooth on the tongue with mild carbonation.

Bottle, at cgarvieuk’s, with Stella, the kids, and Traci. Really great tasting Craig—thanks! Black with brown highlights, sticky tan fine head. Bright high-frequency sort of nose. Fresh cut hay, smoke, vanilla, raw wheat. Some kind of fresh sawn wood...doesn’t smell quite like oak to me (though it well could be), maybe birch. Silky, raisin sweetness, a winey dark chocolate quality to the finish. Fairly light body for the abv, but full of flavor and not hot. As nice as this was, I think this would have the potential to get more integrated with a few years of aging.

750 ml bottle from the brewery - Pours a brown color with a one finger thick tan head. Light spotty lacing. Aroma is toasted and caramel malt, light spice, and faint chocolate. Flavor is lightly roasted malt and light chocolate. Full bodied. Alcohol is noticeable in the finish. The beer comes around nicely as it warms a bit. A very nice beer.

Bottle. Very dark, with a nice creamy dark brown head. Can def. taste the rosted malts in this one, warming alcohol in the finish. Very easy to drink, doesn’t lay too heavy in the belly. Awesome beer.

Bottle courtesy of Zinister and Sparky27. Thanks to both of these guys for a good brew. Can ALESMITH prouduce a bad beer???? I dont think so... Every beer that I have had from them is so "drinkable". This one was no different. Dark in color followed by an average head. Taste is a super smooth coffee like beer. Considering that I dont enjoy a cup of coffee, it is still a good beer. Texture was a little over-carbonated but only because I think it was chilled a little to long. Overall another beer by Alesmith that I throughly enjoyed.
