Jul 11, 2008 pours a red plum coloration, with a really nice head. aroma is nice, but subtle, nothing too aggressive, smells like a good belgian strong, nothing too exciting beyond that- dark fruit, some banana, etc. flavor is delicious with cherry, strawberry and other fruit, and malt- doesn’t have the balance or intensity to compete with pannepot. really nice beer though, good mouthfeel, lingering after taste- good stuff.

Jun 21, 2008 750 ML Bottle-Clear brownish color w/almost no head. Good belgian aroma. This one was pretty hot, very strong alcohol presence which really overpowered everything else. Had some dark fruit, some cane sugar, but alcohol was just too strong, this thing needed some age on it to mellow out, which was a surprise as I got these in a trade w/snojerk321 @ six months ago. I’d have to call this one a disappointment.

Jun 20, 2008 Bottle I bought last year in Ohio, which probably makes it about 12 months old. Hazy ruby/orange color with a medium head. Aroma of caramel malt, toffee, cherries and pears. Mostly sweet with a spicy finish. Medium/heavy body.

Jun 16, 2008 An extremely well done BSA. Beautiful pour with an ample two finger head, nicely frothy, with some really pretty lacing. Lots of strong dark fruit flavors in the nose. moderately yeasty, with a strong matlitness, that is somewhat tart at times with great carbonation and acidity. Just dry enough on the palate, with a creamy texture that keeps me coming back sip after sip and wanting another bottle. This beer makes you selfish. I loved it!

Jun 16, 2008 Bottle shared by a friendly local. Poured a deep amber color with a thin beige head that faded to a ring. Aroma consists of a light, sweet maltiness, moderate fruit, and some yeast. Lightly tart, sweet entry with some moderate fruitiness (apple, light green grapes) leading into a lightly dry, yeasty finish. Smooth, lightly dry on the palate. May have been an off bottle, because I have heard better things.

Jun 7, 2008 Pours cloudy amber with yeasty aroma and sweet dark fruit. Taste is sweet up front then a slightly sour finish. Solid brew, I was hoping that it would be up there with Abbaye des Rocs but it’s not. Still really good though just a bit boozy for my taste.

Jun 7, 2008 Updated: Jan 25, 2009(June 2008 Beer Club Meeting) Lightly cloudy orange/amber color. Light yeast/caramel smell. Taste is AWESOMELY sour. So very well done. Thin, but syrupy. Clinching on the tongue. My god... love at first taste. A little fruity, but not overly so...but still can’t taste the alcohol at all. Impressinve!
